That’s how international and local DJ of the Year award winner DJ Sticko (born Ricardo
Ellis) describes himself. Always managing to keep the atmosphere in tune, his musical
selections are consistently on par. Having grown up in a community where music could
be heard around the clock and Sticko mimicked deejay styles on his mother’s records, and
ended up making his own mixes and jingles in his early teenage years.
With his musical talent, he began landing gigs at children’s birthday parties and church events at the age of 17.
Today, some 10 years later, the name DJ Sticko is among the kingpins of the industry
finding the musical plug at some of the Caribbean’s biggest gospel festivals, touring
grand stages with celebrated artistes including Kevin Downswell and Chozenn.
And though he joys in playing at gospel events, Sticko is no stranger to other corporate
stages as his diverse spectrum of musical influence coupled with his simply raw passion
for melodies and his colourful charisma allow him to hold down numerous events for

most sort after deejays in Jamaica and the Caribbean at large.
